Bio: After graduating the Indiana University
School of Music in 1990, I began "running sound" at Bloomington's Second Story
nightclub. There I met the band Pencil who were about to record their first
album for Grass Records at the soon to be opened Echo Park Studios. When the
band and I went to look at the studio there were only studs for walls and a
great many wires hanging in the air. After giving us the grand tour and scheduling
the session, Mark Hood discretely asked me what I was doing for the next couple
weeks and if I could solder a couple thousand connections for him. Being the
gracious and generous person that I am, I said I would be happy to and thus
began my now 5 year relationship with Echo Park...
...as work with the studio
was only a part time venture for the first few years, I formed M.S. Audio to
make a full-time thing out the many part-time things I had going on. This was
the time when I became "the Doctor" at Roadworthy Guitar & Amp, repairing
old Fenders and Marshall's, removing decomposed snakes from PV amps, and regularly
discharging many hundred volts through my finger tips (much more kick than coffee!)
and though it's been 3 years since I've done it regularly, I can still draw
most Fender schematics from memory...
...music
that means a great deal to me: Elvis Costello (especially the last few albums),
Neil Finn (with Crowded House and solo), Seven Mary Three, Tool, David Baerwald,
and so many of the people listed below, whom I have been fortunate enough to
work with.

Bio: Kevin Loyal spent the Late 80's and a majority of the 90's thumping the bass in the now legendary Bloomington combo "The Walking Ruins". He also held down the low end in Frankie Camaro's fiery surf outfit "Dragstrip" for a year and a half. Returning from Chapel Hill, North Carolina after an outrageous "Dragstrip' booking at the garage band festival known as Sleazefest, Kevin collapsed from exhaustion and vowed to never go on the road again. Needing a day job he decided to do what anyone else would do in his situation... he went back to school and signed up for financial aid.
Two and a half years later he left Indiana University with a degree in Audio Technology, a mountain of debt and fortuitously a job as Echo Park's new Studio Manager and Engineer.
